Baby Phat!

Just before I gave birth to baby Marcus I weighed 160lbs, before I was pregnant I weighed 118lbs and was in pretty good shape. Ok so I was maybe a little soft around the edges but more or less in pretty good shape☺  So in total I gained about 42lbs Wowzers! I was extremely lucky and got away with NO stretch marks Yippee!. “They” say (and when I say “they” I have no idea who “they” are, do you?) anyways “they” say stretch marks  are hereditary so I am really lucky to have good genes in that area, but don’t get me going on the cellulite, lol.

Baby Marcus will be 12 weeks on Friday and I now weight approximately 132lbs.  I will be honest, I have done nothing except walk at this point and a few random sit-ups here and there.  Exercise is very challenging after a C-Section and getting my stomach muscles back is going to be slow process.  My incision has healed nicely on the outside but things are still very sore on the inside, so I am going to take things slow.

My goal is to get back down to about 120lbs and firm up those soft edges I was talking about earlier ☺.  My bodies’ health is a high priority in my life, healthy body, healthy mind you know all the mombo jumbo.  I cant lie and say none of it has to do with vanity…grrr I hate admitting that…but it does feel good to look at a healthy body in the mirror and know it is that way because I value my physical health and that I built that new 6 pack staring back at me…tee hee! (I wonder if I could get my six pack back?) even if it’s a soft six pack hahahaaha!

So 12lbs to go and I at this point I don’t really have a plan of action in place.  I thought maybe I would do yoga at home, I love running but not sure I am ready to run yet…when I bounce down the stairs I can feel my extra skin bounce up and down and I think it feels funny, hahahaha! EWWW! GROSS!

Kristin is amazing at yoga and is truly inspiring to me, so I thought I would learn one new yoga sequence a week or something like that and share it with anyone else here at GBD that wants to learn a little yoga too.

I like to follow Tara Stiles Yoga online…here is our first routine…try it out and let me know who’s into learning yoga with me?

Come on everybody. Let’s Do some yoga! Kendra – go get Tabby and let’s nag her, like she wanted us to, about her weight. I’m totally there with you, and I’m so proud of you for losing so much weight already and taking everything (the healing and exercising) at your own pace.

I practiced yoga off and on through the years but really got into it when I was pregnant and even became certified as a yoga instructor and a certified children’s fitness instructor.

Yes, yoga as an exercise is great for everyone!

Heck yeah!!!
I’m on board, for some GDB yoga. I used to do it in the morning alittle bit (I’m more of a pilates person), I was no pro, but I would love to learn more yoga.
I hear it’s supposed to be really relaxing.

You and Kristin should make a yoga video for those us that are missing out on the retreat.

Oh man, I tried yoga once at the gym….yeah…I guess I’d be up for trying it again, seeing as how lately, the only exercise I get involves 6 strings and a humbucker haha. *looks around*

Curious- If someone were to like get injured doing these yoga exercises…would it be an odd injury that would be embarrassing to explain? Haha. “I don’t wanna say how my leg got wrapped around my head!”

I’d love to learn Yoga. I’ve just started a healthier lifestyle (daily exercise and eating well). I had a negative self-image and mindset so it took a while before I got it right. I’d like to lose 25-30 lbs. It will the best gift for my 35th birthday this year.

I’m exercising at home and I’ve got tons of amazing workout DVD’s. As for Yoga, I got Louise Solomon’s series.

I’m going to check this Yoga online out as well. Thanks for letting us know. I welcome any advice about healthy eating habits and workout routine.

I have been clinically diagnosed as being allergic to exercise. But I know I must exercise if I don’t want to be all arthritic and cancer-ridden and debilitated with clogged arteries. I know this. I do walk a lot, and do little things like park the car far away, use the stairs, etc. But I don’t actually set aside time to exercise.

My sister has the same allergy I do. But she used to run track and play all these sports. My brother also has this allergy. It runs in the family. But he has totally turned his life around and eats well and runs regularly. (I do eat well.) Anyway, so now my sister and my cousin are both into yoga because of Yoga to the People (really cool program – you go and pay what you can), and now they’re all like, “Kathy! Do yoga! It’s really good for you!”

And now Kendra posts this. All this peer pressure!

So maybe I’ll try it. Despite my clinically diagnosed allergy. *sigh*

Where did all this talk about yoga getting you pregnant come from?? Let’s just say yoga helps you in all aspects of life, including and especially when you’re pregnant because it helps you relax and breath so you get more oxygen into the body (which is very good for the baby.)

Sarah

I would love to, I need to exercise but I don’t have the strength to do cardio right now because I haven’t exercise in quite a while.
Where can I see more classes like the one on the post?
By the way hello from Portugal (Europe the little country on the left of Spain).
