Superdog!

The window that Teddy jumped from. (photo: Jessica F)

So a couple days ago, Jessica F’s crazy dog thought he was either a cat or Superdog, and decided to jump out the window you see in the photo up there.  Here’s Jessica with her story:

******************************

Friday afternoon I came home to a note taped on my door saying, “Teddy jumped out your window.”  I was so scared because the window was so high up!  I saw the screen (which my roommate so nicely replaced by the time I returned home, so I couldn’t take a pic of the damaged screen to show you).  I rushed Teddy to the vet across town and got there in 7 minutes.  To all their (the vets) astonishment, Teddy had no lacerations, no bruising, no motion impediments.  We had Teddy’s torso area X-rayed to check for any internal trauma.  When he came out, the vet said he was fine.  There was no bruising or internal bleeding.  Even she couldn’t explain how he fell two stories without a scratch – except today he did have a slight limp in his left paw (as shown in his picture below).  I guess Teddy watches too much Superman and decided to try flying himself?!?

I think the most important part of this story is the compassion and the care that my neighbor Carolyn showed.  She and I don’t talk very much.  We just say “Hi” most of the time.  Carolyn told me she saw Teddy hiding behind a bush, collarless.  She fed him a bit and tried to see if she could let him into our house.  Unfortunately, all the doors were locked!!  So, Carolyn placed him in our backyard for safekeeping until I returned home.

Teddy must have had a bunch of angels watching over him!  First, he jumps out of a two story window and has no major injuries.  Then, Carolyn just happened to come home early that day and she was the one who found him and knew where he lived (remember he was collarless – I think it got lost in the bushes somewhere)!  If it weren’t for Carolyn, I would have not known what had happened to Teddy.  Teddy might not even be with me today – he could’ve been struck by a car, kidnapped, or picked up by animal control.

I just wanted to share this story because it’s so crazy and had a happy ending.  I attached some pics so that readers can gauge how far he fell and see how lucky he was!

Shame you must have been so worried Jessica! I know what it’s like to love an animal that much.. but I think Teddy really does have an Angel or two watching over him..either that or he’s definitely Clark Kent no.2!
