WTF: The Uno

The Uno is an electric motorcycle, and so releases zero-emissions.  It looks like it has only one wheel, but it actually has two – they’re just side-by-side.  It uses 2 gyroscopes to balance and operate (kind of like the Segway) – you lean forward to accelerate, backward to go back, to the side to turn.

Believe it or not, Ben Gulak invented it when he was just 18.  It is not currently being mass produced.  What you see in the photo is the prototype that was shown at the 2008 National Motorcycle Show in Toronto.  Top speed is theoretically 40 mph, but Ben hasn’t taken it beyond 15 mph.

wow this is like unicycle 3000. although i feel when i ride it i’m gonna directly fall flat on my face. x) me thinks its a win in progress.

this is awesome! Dunno how practical it would be, but c’mon, I would totally want to ride an UNO. Although I don’t think it could ever look ‘cool’ no matter the color, so I kinda like it the way it is. Reminds me of a dinosaur on wheels for some reason

HAHA you would look so funny riding that thing. i mean just imagine being at a stoplight and having one of those pull up. Hilarious. WIN…its creative and it takes a lot of talent and wit to invent something in general
