Bonds, key hunts, mountain lions and doing yoga on hills without falling

Let me just start off by saying:
The retreat was a fabulous, once in a lifetime bonding experience. I will never forget how connected and accepted I felt by all of the amazingly talented girls who were at the retreat.

I’ve cried several times since I left (I openly admit this)…mainly because its so weird, but amazing how us girls seem to connect and form these extremely special bonds. We may be known for being a bit overdramatic, but it seems that the fact that we work, bond so well and come together to create and express and share is overlooked.

The retreat was definately a lifechanging experience for me and I came back with more of an understanding of who I am and want to be (even more than I was aware of in the first place)…. although some of the changes I feel that are ready to erupt are still a little fuzzy to me. I would love to share those, but they haven’t quite surfaced yet or i haven’t quite deciphered them myself yet.

Okay, but getting away from the mushyy stuff I’ll tell you all about a couple of the rotations at the retreat.

My First rotation was Yoga… oh yoga
I was wearing jeans after noticing this… i turned to kristin and i was like “Well I have Yoga first… and I’m wearing jeans, this should be interesting” (im pretty sure it went something like that)
and then she proceeded to do this in which case i followed (as you can tell, i couldn’t get all the way down with my jeans).
Binks thought it would be a cool picture and it definately did turn out uber cute.

splits

oh and… i also couldn’t balance when we were doing a pose… we were on a hill and I kept falling over hahah.
So my goal is to be able to do yoga on a hill and not fall over :D

Theennnn my next rotation was self-esteem and love. Guess WHAT! WE GOT TO DRAW PICTURES! <3

After that… I did the feng-shui  rotation… where I got to talk about my messy, cluttered room.

Theennn I went to  nutrition and fitness where we learned about what we need as growing teenagers… and what we should limit in our diets in order to prevent future health problems.

Lasstttt my group went to Guided Imagery and Vizualization…. which was so relaxing.
Pina (the rotation leader) helped us breakthrough, see our success in the future and put us on the path by using guided imagery.
It was really cool and Pina is soo talented at what she does… her voice is extremely relaxing.

All of the rotation leaders were friggin awesome people who had soo much to share with us. All of us seemed super sponge tastic while listening to these amazing ladies speak and share their knowledge with us.
and here are those amazing ladies plus Kristin and Kendra

leaders

After the rotations we all went to dinner at the lounge and I got a chance to hold Marcus… which actually turned into a babysitting job while Kendra ate :D
hehe but it was sooo worth it because he is such a cuddly sweet little boy… who I wanted to steal from Kendra :-p

marcus-and-tay2

After dinnerrrrr we all gathered in the room down the hall to showcase our projects (which were all FABULOUSLY AMAZINGG by the way) and see an amazing musical performance by the FABULOUS Caitlin Crosby and to also hear kristin speak.
Oh yeah.. they also played mine and binks’ project on a laptop, while we all huddled around to view the projects… because the speakers werent loud enough and kendra decided it would be a fun time to get warm, cozy and closer to all the girls.

Ssoooo apparently we were supposed to have skits prepared *cough*…which I basically forgot about due to all the excitement of the day… and freaked out about with my group during dinner.
Ofcourse Kristin decided to point me out and ask if i specifically had a skit -_-
ofcourse … but i didn’t.
One amazing, brave group got up and decided to wing it :D I give them soo much credit… what brave girls!

After everyone had scattered to either go swimming in the warm springs that smelled like rotten eggs (but apparently made your skin feel like a babies bottom), go back to their rooms or go play games in the lounge…. Binks and I and a few other girls stayed behind to bug Kristin ofcourse :D
I mean kendra wasn’t there… who else was there to bug.

Between Kristin, me and Nydia (another amazing person from the retreat) … we almost downed a whole box of Wheat Thins (mainly me) … I will never be able to eat Wheat Thins everrr again.

Oh to top off the night… (I was given full permission to include embarassing moments and all)
Kristin lost Tamaras keys MUAHAHA
and about 4 of us, plus Kristin went on a search for car keys… kristin thought she would have to buy Tamara a new car… I asked her if she would lose my keys too.
This was at like 12 at night… sooo cold….
we failed at finding the keys and then decided that if Kendra had them… we would all laugh in the morning.

WELL HAHA! cause she had them…
(mind you, sleepy kendra was asleep throughout this whole thing)

Then we all parted ways….. went back to our cabins…
but before we left Kristin told Binks and I not to get into any trouble…
and no pranks! HOW DID SHE KNOW?
-_-

I then spent forever in Binks’ cabins, with her amazing roomates learning some amazing yoga poses from Kristine (the awesome yoga rotation leader).

Guess what happened next….
I went to sleep… yep.

The next morning was fun…. all I have to say is “Does anyone know a Ben Dover?”

Anddd I stole Marcus again DUHHHH

Blahhh breakfast was fun…..

I found out how slow toast can toast…
and decided I am infact Kendras #1 fan, but who isn’t?
Ohhh and I also heard Jesse McCartney a billion times :D
can’t wait till Marcus can dance hehehe
(he will totally be dancing before he can walk 0.o LOL)

So on the way to the bus…. after getting our stuff….
ofcourse I had to do a graceful slide down the hill (I can’t leave without doing such graceful movements).

I almost cried when we left… ALMOST!
I just realized how time really does pass fast….. and how much I cherished the moments I spent with all of the girls
all the unforgettable moments that will be embedded in our memories forever….
and the bonds that will never be broken, even if time passes and distance becomes more apparent.

Thank you ladies for such an amazing and unforgettable weekend. You all hold such a special place in my heart and I love you all dearly.

xoxo

I am soooo jealous right now hahaha! It must have been an more than amazing week end/ experience for all of you. I laughed out loud a couple of times while reading your post Taylor, but I have to say that the funniest part was about the lost keys…and new car *cough” lol, what about the old way of calling the locksmith services..:P haha, anyway, can’t wait to see more of that retreat! :D

AHHHHH This weekend was so great. I keep thinking about it, wishing it had lasted longer so we could have bonded more! I cried when I got home because I suddenly experienced this huge emotional/spiritual breakthrough regarding who I am and who I CAN become. Great post, Taylor! :]

You know, Taylor, when I read the title of your post, I was like, “Bonds? Whatever. Key hunts? Whatever. Yoga? Double whatever. But MOUNTAIN LIONS??? Awesome!!”

And there was no mention of mountain lions anywhere in your post. Some would call that deceptive advertising. I call it LIES!! Lies I tell you!

Also, I noticed that when you described breakfast, you didn’t include the photo of Binks eating bacon. This wouldn’t have anything to do with that whole nutrition rotation, in which you learned about “what we should limit in our diets in order to prevent future health problems” would it? Protecting your friend’s honor – that’s admirable.

By the way…Binks! Fist bump for the bacon! Bacon – bad for the heart, good for the soul.

OMG that’s genius. I should trademark that.

Uauuu. The meeting by the way was very nice. Now, Kristin might be the Elastic-Woman, the way it is in the picture, it makes you think is the easiest thing in the world (look at the smile) … rsrs
If I do this exercise, I would have to go straight to the hospital …

HAHAHA.. it was fun and very cold when we went on that mini scavenger hunt. Kristin rode on a golf cart and we rode in a very warm car. I recall the security guy saying maybe a raccoon took the keys cause they like shiny things… And by the way, you guys owe me a box of wheat thins. LOL… good time.
