Too Good To Be True

Remember how there was all this talk about how drinking moderate amounts of red wine might lower your risk of heart disease?  It’s part of the explanation people have given for The French Paradox – the fact that the French suffer relatively low rates of heart disease even though they eat diets relatively high in saturated fats.

Well, it was all too good to be true.

Now there’s research showing that having just one drink a day increases women’s risk of all types of cancer.  It didn’t matter if the alcohol was from wine or beer, etc. – the pattern held on data collected from more than a million women.

And the more women drank, the more they raised their cancer risk.

The article.

Thanks to G!  Who, upon reading this article, said, “This is why us ladies should always stick to the hard stuff.”

P.S. – Don’t listen to G.  ;)

I’m actually really disappointed… One day they say something and the next, the opposite… still, we have to find what’s the real deal about red wine! ^^

I really do believe that a glass of Wine a day keeps the doctor away, but ironically, especially French wine used to be highly contaminated with all kinds of pesticides in recent years due to an almost complete lack of permissible value directives in France. And I’m not making this up or try to bash the French:
