Brainercise: Mari better cook for me one day edition
Good morning GBD! So it seems a lot of you knew the answer to last week’s brainteaser, but didn’t want to ruin it for others. Awww. Warm and fuzzies! :) So, for the curious among you, MarilyneL, Andrea, and Alyssa posted the correct answers. Eddy pointed out that David Blaine (the magician and dude who does those crazy challenges) would have a hard time with this brainteaser. This is because David Blaine is an alien and thus barred from answering this question. That and he trained like a madman and inhaled pure oxygen before setting a breath-holding record of 17 minutes and 4 seconds. Like I said…alien.
Here’s this week’s brainteaser:
Maria’s mother called her children together for a family dinner. Her husband had died long ago, and she hadn’t seen her children (all daughters) in a very long time. Plus, she’s an amazing chef and wanted to cook a huge feast. Her children, of course, are awesome and weren’t about to let their mother do all of the work. So one by one, the children showed up for dinner, each bringing something to add to the dinner table. Onelia, the oldest, showed up with Carne Seca com Abóbora. Carmelita, the second oldest, showed up with Chuchu com Camarão. Teresa, the third oldest, showed up with Feijoada. Augusta, the fourth oldest, showed up with Bife com Arroz e Batata Frita. If the mother has 5 children, what is the name of her youngest child? And which dish do you think she brought with her? (The brainteaser is really the first question. The second question is just for fun.)
Thanks to Mari for all the names and the food!
P.S. - I love David Blaine by the way. I think he’s amazing. :)

April 10, 2009Here’s a shot in the dark would it be Maria, I think possibly. But for the second question I have no clue.
