‘Sup GBD! Guess what! Last week’s true fact was…#3!
- Hippos can stay under water for at least 6 minutes. <– FALSE. The maximum that they can stay under water is 5 minutes. (source)
- The oldest hippo lived until the age of 68. <– FALSE. The oldest hippo ,Tanga, lived until the age of 61. (source)

And here are this week’s facts:
- The largest and most powerful laser in the world is the NOVA laser, in California. The NOVA laser is 3 three stories high, about as long as a football field, and has a power of about 100 terawatts (100,000 billion Watts).
- Excimer Lasers use non-reactive gases, such as chlorine and fluorine, mixed with inert gases such as argon, krypton or xenon.
- The primary visible light emitted by gas lasers is violet light.
- When G engages in her, um, anti-social behavior while eating pasta, her weapon of choice is a laser. Not a samurai sword, or a box cutter, or a meat cleaver as is commonly thought.
A big huge muchas gracias to Chris for last week’s facts and to G for this week’s facts! I looooooove when people give me extra time to sleep.
