Here’s What Sarah has to say…

1.  How do you think people perceive you and how is it different from the way you perceive yourself?

To be honest I don’t really know and I don’t think I want to; I just don’t care about what others think of me. I would have to guess that they may think of me as a teacher’s pet, pushover/goodie goodie. The ones I’ve gotten that I’m very literal and from my family and close friends talkative. I agree that at times I can be too talkative and literal, but when it comes to being too nice it’s not possible; there is no such thing as being too nice. I’m not in one click; I’m the type of person who hangs with everyone. It’s just sooo much easier to be nice and you get a lot farther if in life. I love being who I am and I get pushed around for it, but believe it or not it doesn’t affect me one bit. As my mother says, “Sarah, not many people in this world has as thick of skin as you do, it’s rare, and it shouldn’t be.”

2. Which of your irrational fears is the silliest?

Hahaha It probably would have to be tornadoes or thunderstorms because tornadoes usually come with thunderstorms. Every storm I used to grab my blanket from when I was a kid and my cash box and go in the basement and pace and switch off between saying the Hail Mary and Our Father. The reason being is because I am very family oriented and just the thought of losing pictures and materials from or of lost ones and childhood memories/materials is devastating. Silly I know, but fortunately I’m mostly over it.

3. What is the most time consuming activity you participate in?

It used to be softball and school, but now that it is summer I’ve got less on my plate, except for being a nanny on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays, and also working concessions. Softball used to start right after holiday break, it would be agility twice a week at 6:30 Am and then weight lifting and stations after school with the football and baseball team everyday till like 6 except Wednesdays. This would go on until February when tryouts were. If you made the team you had practice everyday after school till 6 or sometimes even 9 or 10 with an hour break or so to go home and eat dinner. Then once games started those too would be after school everyday and most weekends and if it was rained out we would have practice.

4. What is the greatest lesson you have learned from a child?

That’s a tough one. It probably would have to be relax and have fun. Don’t take life to seriously because then it restricts your capacity to have fun and enjoy yourself. There is a time to be serious and a time to have fun; cliché I know but it is so true. Serious would be business like situations (depends on the job) and meaningful and thoughtful moments/events. These can even be fun if you make and it’s appropriate for those circumstances. But about 90% of the time you should have fun, with a little effort you can make anything fun, it may not be fun for others but at least you’re having fun.

5.   If you could wave a magic wand and ask for whatever you wanted, what would you ask for?

That is also a tough one, there is so much: from poverty, global warming, violence, and other world affairs. Thinking about after writing that makes me think it probably would be to fix all the world’s problems, so that basically covers everything. To show my literal side I guess; well at least I think it would because they always say ‘Be careful for what wish for’. You never know how it will turn out, would it really make things better or would it make things worse?

6. What is the most beautiful moment you have ever experienced?

My beautiful moment isn’t the normal ones like seeing a baby being born (never experienced) or a wedding. Mine is more unique and to some maybe not beautiful. It happened when I can home from school mad one day after I was fed up with getting picked on all day by this one girl who had a history with messing with me. I was probably in like 7th/8th grade and my brother in 4th/5th grade. I was telling my mom and my brother was standing there and as I’m explaining he chimes in “Who is she, where does she live, if she ever messes with you again do you want me to beat her up, I’m going to beat her up, she needs a serious talking to.” At that age for him to say something like that and even now occurs/ed little to none. He’s not that type of person who will beat up anyone; he’s more the one who is nice to everyone. Although it was nice, I turned him down for obvious reasons, but it showed me he cares. About 95% of the time he and I don’t see eye to eye on things and don’t get along very well and the fact that he said that meant that underneath it all he cares and looks out for me and on those days when we do get along makes the whole day better.

7. What are you most grateful for?

As of now I’m grateful for not getting hit as hard as most people in our country have been by the economy. Also, meeting new friends, and having old ones that have stuck around through thick and thin. And especially my family and the fact that my parents are still together. In this day in age it is sad how many broken homes there are and how many kids have lacked that or have gone through the loss of a parent. Every year I have had at least one friend/classmate who has lost a parent to a disease or complication or whose parents have gotten a divorce. And with the economy too it has been increasing. Being Italian usually means you have a big family and having that as a support system. I think when you come from a strong familial foundation it’s easier to believe in yourself. It’s always easiest to pursue your dreams when you have people supporting you. Believing in yourself is ultimately something you and only you can control but I think it’s far easier to do so when you have people around you to remind you of your strengths on the days you feel you have none, and to be honest with you when you’re behaving in a way that might sabotage you. Without question, I wouldn’t be where I am today without them.

thanks for sharing sarah! :)
i can definitely relate to the softball aspect of life. haha i played softball myself for over 11 years, and my older sister played constantly. so i was always around it. i was keeping the book during games when i was 7 and 8 years old. lol i never enjoyed the weight lifting part though.. i always wanted to be on the mound, not in the gym. haha
awesome sexy 7! :)

Great answers Sarah. I loved your answer to #6. My older sister was like that with me when we were younger. Of course she too never beat anyone up on my behalf, but it’s just a great feeling to know that someone has your back.
