Parkour

An all-girl parkour workshop, given as part of Girl’s Empowerment Day in London.
I realized too late that today is Tuesday. So instead, here’s a video.
I really enjoyed watching this video. The girls have a mix of excitement, nervous energy, self-doubt, and genuine surprise at their abilities. I really love it when people try something new and get all giggly when they see that they can do it. My favorite part is at the 1:05 mark.
Parkour is a male-dominated sport, but Parkour Generations is trying to get more women involved, especially young women. The videos below show what some of the more experienced parkour chicks can do. The second video is more of an introspective look at one particular parkour student.
Anyone out there do parkour? If you’re interested in learning, Google to see if there are classes or workshops in your area.
The ladies from the Parkour Generations academy take to the streets of London.
Karen Palmer, a dedicated female parkour student talks about her parkour journey so far.
