Anonymous Internet
Hey peepz,
Today I want to present you a very personal and important aspect in my life – my 4 best friends. So now you’re thinking – oh no! She wants to bore us with her boring life and how is this connected to the title of this text? Stay calm, I’ll soon explain! But before I need to go six years back…
I love writing. Creating stories, poems and living in my fantasy! That’s because I take every chance to write. In the year 2003 a friend of mine started a writing contest in the internet – some girls came together to create one collective story. I thought “YAY! Finally I can experience my writing skills with others!” and I never imagined what happened during this time. We were 5 girls – all from different cities all over Germany, but our passion for writing brought us together – and the internet!
Now, in the year 2009, there are still these 4 other girls who are the most important people in my life – every one of them has her own extraordinary and lovable character. We live different lives, have other friends, but we never forget each other!
Because we all still live in different cities we have one special occasion when we all meet – New Years Eve! Every new year I start looking forward to this day and I already can’t wait until it’s December! During the year we often talk to each other on the phone or use the great, awesome, genius internet to communicate!
We are a bunch of 5 crazy peeps who would never have know us if there weren’t the internet! Isn’t that awesome? I mean – let’s focus shortly on the GBD – we all could never exchange opinions or news if there weren’t the internet. Some friendships may never happened *remembers the article from Binks and Taylor about their first meeting* if there weren’t the internet! And not only friendships! I know lot of people who found their partner in the internet!
What do you guys think? Is the world wide web only a platform to communicate? Or did you also find some friends? Do you think that’s all stupid stuff? I mean the internet has many pros but aren’t there also so many contras?
To discuss this I want to show you a video I found on YouTube. This picks out one of the cons of the internet as a central theme! What do you think?
So is the internet still an anonymous platform? I mean – how do you know that I’m really Nina and not some weird boy? Or maybe Catwoman (well I’d love that!)? Or maybe I’m a talented chimp? Minnie Mouse? I could choose any picture from the internet to fake my real identity!
Last but not least, all I have to say is: Dear internet, thank you for my wonderful friends and all the opportunities you afford!

July 21, 2009You just don’t know if you’re really Nina. But we think GBD is a serious thing. I mean, we just have to trust.
