College Experience #2 Written Edition
Before starting, I wanted to apologize for not doing any bit for Halloween but I couldn’t manage to pull it off. Sorry

Good Day GBD!
You may be wondering “Why didn’t she make this into a video?” To be completely honest, you’ll find out at the very end of this
I’m not sure how many of you knew that I’m majoring in Human Resources. Anyone? LOL Okay, so not the case, I’ll get to the point. I’ve had all sorts of classes concerning my major this semester and guess what? Through this experience I found out that I really wasn’t interested in studying Human Resources! And there came the thoughts in my head “If that’s not what I want, what am I gonna do?” For the following days I felt really lost and with nowhere to go so I told my mom what I was going through and she suggested I go to the counselor; that I did. (Always follow mom’s advice! They’re always right!)
For 3 weeks I went to my counselor once a week. On my first day with the counselor I took a test that helps you figure out what it is that you’re best at and love doing so the counselor can help you find out what you can study based on your interests and what you’re good at, I also spoke with her about what I wanted in a job. Second day was all about analyzing the result and looking for possible career choices. She helped me through the process and I actually enjoyed going through it! Guess what I’m going to be studying now? Literature! (Yes ladies, that’s why I wrote it instead of recording myself).
Now that I know what I really want to study and what I’m passionate for, I’ve filled out some forms to change my major and I’m waiting for a response from the university. I’m so anxious!
I really wanted to share this with all of you because I think that most of us will go through this experience or are already going through this so I wanted to mention that there’s nothing wrong with it because it is actually when we’re studying and figure out what it is we’re getting into, that we realize what we really want to study for the rest of our lives! The best advice I can give to all of you: Study something that you’re passionate for and that you visualize yourself doing for the rest of your lives.
Alright, so enough chit-chat here LOL I hope you have a great day, ladies!
Love,
Jenny
PS: If you could please, send out the role model video clips, I’d really appreciate it! (I’ll give you until this Wednesday, hope that’s long enough for you).

October 25, 2009Good for you Jenny! I went through the same thing. I started out studying Psychology, got to my classes and went…Ummm….I don’t really like this. Uh-oh. I had picked it because I thought it would lead to a “good stable job”, but I saw the counselor too and realized I needed to study what was right for me and not what would impress my parents or be a “safe” choice. So hello graphic design and art! And I couldn’t be happier.
