Here’s what Kaye from the Philippines has to say:

  1. How do you think people perceive you and how is it different from the way you perceive yourself?
People think I’m a snobbish type of person. Some of them say I’m “cool” to a lot of things. But I know what they really mean. It’s me being boring, unemotional, and unexpressive. Well, maybe to others I really am like that…but to be honest I am naïve to those thoughts. I don’t know why…maybe it’s because I know myself better. And I don’t blame them because most of the time I’m very silent. I don’t talk that much, and I don’t get excited every time I pass an exam, every time I receive a complement. I barely say “thank you,” but just a simple smile. Some of them say that I am “mysterious”…well, I think so…I don’t know why! Hahaha!! But really, the truth is I’m a shy and simple type of person. I’m just too hard to crack. I mean this is ME. I am much happier when someone greets me “Hi! Good morning! ^_^” rather than “Hey! You look good this morning!” Another is receiving a letter/card or things that you’ve especially made for me rather than things that were expensive. Weird? Yah, maybe that’s what I really am. I only show the real me to those people that I really trust…people who will not judge for being me. And if I’m with those people, I am that crazy, silly, sometimes moody and jolly person that others couldn’t see.

  2. Which of your irrational fears is the silliest?
I’m scared of trucks!! Every time we’re on the road and those trucks are right next to our car, it scares me a lot! They were like monsters on the road…haha!!

  3. What is the most time consuming activity you participate in?
Right now we’re training. It’s a rotation we go through at a small hospital, maternal clinic, and rehabilitation center for those patients who need physical therapy treatment. We spent 3 days in each place. And it’s awesome! It’s a great experience.

  4. What is the greatest lesson you have learned from a child?
    To have fun while learning.

  5. If you could wave a magic wand and ask for whatever you wanted, what would you ask for?
Happiness and enough courage to face the ups and downs that may come.

  6. What is the most beautiful moment you have ever experienced?
One of the most beautiful moments was my first day at the rehab center. Most of the patients were aged 50 years old and above. I met this woman, and while providing her treatment, we talked a lot and I didn’t recognize that I was gaining a rapport with her. Then suddenly she cried while sharing some of her personal experiences. It felt good that time because we were talking for one and a half hours, and suddenly… BOOM! She opened up and I already gained her trust!

  7. What are you most grateful for?
I am grateful to my family because I know that whatever happens they’ll always be there for me. And also to those people who trusted and never doubted me. And of course my friends. My life wouldn’t be this crazy without them. Haha!
