Hey Ladies!

We wanted to remind everyone that the deadline to submit your BOD application is coming up soon! And by soon we mean “The day after tomorrow” soon! So hurry on up and submit a lil’ somethin’ somethin’. We wanna hear from YOU!

So just to make it clear, here are the guidelines again:

If you would love to be part of Kristin Kreuk’s and Kendra Voth’s fun, creative, inspiring group of girls who make GBD a reality, this is your chance!

HERE IS THE CHALLENGE! Send Kristin and Kendra a project that expresses who you are! What makes you unique, what do you love, what do you value? What makes you YOU!

Choose your format: Video, Written, Collage, Photo Slideshow- whatever you feel best expresses who you are and fill out the GBD SUBMISSION FORM.

Get us your submission by Sunday February 21st, 2010 by Midnight PST. Our current Board of Directors will vote on the projects. Girls selected to be the NEW GBD BOARD MEMBERS will be announced Monday March 8th, 2010.
 GET ON IT!!!

So if you are:

1. 12-18 years old at the time of application

2. Online at least 3-4 times a week

3. Able to commit at least 4 hours a week to GBD

And you want to:

1. Be part of an amazing community of your peers and mentors

2. Have your writing, art, and ideas published online by GBD

3. Influence GBD content and bring attention to issues that are important to you

4. Get recommendations for college and/or employers based on your GBD contributions

5. Learn how to blog, including how to use blogging software (we use WordPress)

6. Improve your skills in: team-building, collaboration, time-management, writing and more

7. Create friendships that can last a lifetime

BOD Responsibilities:

1. Contribute regularly to the newsletter, blog, challenges and upcoming exciting new features

2. Participate in online meetings with the GBD team

3. Contribute ideas, content, links, etc. for GBD to feature

4. Promote GBD – Spread the love and encourage others to participate

5. Comment often (a few times a week at least) to encourage participation – whether on the blog, newsletter, forum, future site, etc.

6. Be able to help with administrative tasks like moderating comments on the blog

7. Set an example for other teen girls and contribute to a community based on freedom, expression and acceptance.

The Fine Print:

Parental Permission:

We will require the consent of your parent(s) to use your image on our website because you are under the age of 18. We will contact you for more information on this if you win a spot on the BOD.

Video Creation Requirements:

• Videos must not include commercial copyrighted music or images. Contestants are responsible for ensuring that soundtracks and images are not copyrighted material.

• Please submit your application to GBD using the submission form, not email. You can send the project portion of your application using YouSendIt if you don’t have a link to submit.

• Videos can be no longer than 4 minutes.

Judging Criteria:

• All submissions will be judged and voted on by the current GBD Board of Directors.

• Submissions will be judged based on originality, creativity, and understanding of what it means to be a GBD Board Member.
