Toys Do WHAT Now?!

Holy crap! I was put in toys the other day at work and I could not believe all of the high-tech shizz they have now! Robots, robotic dogs, hairdressing chairs (with little pregnant girls on the box, very good image to sell), tricked out exersaucers ( I want one!), more pimp kid cars , etc.(What the heck is a 6-year-old going to do with a mini Viper?! Pick up toy hookers?!) The sky seems to be the limit these days in toy land and it made me wonder why the heck we couldn’t have toys like that when I was little. Sure we had some pretty awesome stuff, I’m not going to lie, but it was not nearly as high-tech as now. I probably sound like some 80-year-old looking at a computer in amazement and I don’t care! It is what it is and that is that, ladies!

Given this wee trip down memory lane, I got to thinking about what I used to looove to play with when I was little and I realized that Lego was probably my number one toy love. How very un-girly of me :P I want to know what your favourite toy(s) were growing up and what you think about the stuff nowadays, mmkay? Is that cool? I think it should be cool enough.

I totally agree the toys nowadays are just impressive but then again we have come a long way & now everything is way cooler then it used to be back in the 80’s & 90’s. My sister is 7 years old she will be turning 8 in May so I have to go to stores to see what to buy her but looking at all the stuff is just crazy I also wish we had more stuff like that even though I do love the stuff we had as well.

I have to say probably my favorite toy was I don’t know if you guys remember them but I loved Furby me & my older sister used to collect them all they were so adorable so I think that was probably my favorite toy that or probably or beanie babies I was very into collecting things I don’t know why I just had a knack for it.

I was a really big girly girl! I had a lot of Barbies. I still have a lot in plastic containers, and I collect them now!

Lego’s should be everyone’s number 1 toy! Out of a star wars millenium falcon set you could make a castle and a matching pirate ship! But alas, we cannot forget Mr. Potato Head, the number one toy ever! But seriously, give my brother and I a stuffed animal of any kind (Beanie Baby perhaps?) we could play for hours, we didn’t need any children’s laptops to keep us happy

It totally blows my mind what the kiddos ask Santa for these days.
I looooooved Barbie. My sister and I would literally act out everyday situations, which was kind of a way to deal with life for us. Like, our Barbies got a divorce after our parents did, and the ‘teen’ Barbies we had would have conversations about how they felt about it, etc. I think it was a way for us to explore our feelings through play.

I also still have my Cabbage Patch Kid. Her birth certificate came with the name “Dinah Carlotta”, and I changed it to “Lucy”.

Loved Lego, Easy-Bake Oven, My Little Ponies and the race car set my Dad got us.

hah i bought my sister a dora the explorer bubble whistle yesterday, don’t even ask… anyways, it didn’t even work! I ended up swallowing bubbles…

Life lesson: bubbles and whistles should NOT BE COMBINED.

awwww legos! and Easy-Bake Oven, stuffed animals! @krispet totally agree: hours and hours of fun! My brother and I called ourselves the: “Géants-Gentils” (nice-giants) yeah..that’s the name we took to explain how we could move Legos figures one place to another really fast! :P
