Fast Food Horrors

Yes, we know the legends well. The mythical health issues with the global food industry conglomerates (Hey! Look at the big words! :O ) have always caused havoc among the starving, on-the-go, economically restraint people of our time. Or, in other words: teens, college students, and busy workers. While they supply delicious food that poisons your body slowly, you pay cheap to satiate your hunger needs. This would all be a thing of the past if we could only have those nifty sci-fi microwaves that cook a delicious meal out of a pill. But alas, that has not happened yet. Curse you complex kitchen of today! >=|

As many of you may know, eating fast food, while delicious, is pretty dang bad for your health. In fact, doctors usually recommend that if you do eat fast food, you should only eat it once a month. Binks here, eats it almost every day, so I have no expectations of surviving running up a flight of stairs without getting a heart attack. Thank you clogged arteries!

It’s also not surprising to you guys that eating a lot of this fast food diet helps contribute to obesity rates. Not only that, their methods of making food are… questionable at best. To show you guys what I mean in a better and cooler style, I shall show you a picture. Pictures rock, and they are also worth a thousand words! Too bad that picture line doesn’t get you out of typing an essay. Honestly, teachers need to get with the program. These Fast Food Horror Facts are still scarily interesting though….

I’ve got the movie “Food Inc” on my to-rent list, and I imagine that will seal the deal for me.
I don’t eat a lot of fast food, mostly because I work from home and I have the time to cook, and I also enjoy cooking and growing yummy organic food in my garden.
It makes me angry that these companies can be so careless about what they put in food for human consumption, but we let them get away with it, and we pay them to feed it to us!
I’ve been watching Jamie Oliver’s Food Revolution, and it is amazing what he is doing in schools in the US to fight obesity. I can’t believe what they feed the kids in schools! Ugghhhh!

OMG!! Eww almost everything that was on the statistics made me not want to eat fast food ever again. I only eat it once in a while maybe 3 times a month or more depending on when I’m not in the mood to cook. But now knowing this I’m a vegetarian knowing that the stuff they put in their fries could have animal products eewwww that just makes me sick to my stomach I can’t believe they would do this. I’m so never going again I’d rather just eat my regular organic foods & my tofurkey sandwiches.

Great post thanks for all that information & Omg Jen I so want to rent that I’ve been wanting to watch that but I know I’m probably going to stop eating a bunch more stuff then I already do lol

i’d been vegetarian for almost a year when i saw food, inc and i have to say that it solidified the fact that i was going to be vegetarian for the rest of my life.

it wasn’t just about the fact that meat and processed foods are often unhealthy for us, but also unhealthy for planet–the waste we create, the resources we deplete through this unsustainable agribusiness hurts more than just our hearts and arteries. :(
