Today we give you a Fab Female! Read and be amazed!

Bharti Kumari is a 12-yr old girl in India who lives in a tiny village named Kusumbhara, she was abandoned at a railroad station in Bahir as an infant and adopted by a family of farmhands in the Kusumbhara village. Bharti goes to school every day from 10am to 3pm that is located 2 miles away, for which she has to walk the whooole way. Whatever she learns at school, she comes back to her village sits under a mango tree and teaches around 50 children, from the ages of 4 and 10, what’s she’s learned. Mostly she teaches them Hindu, English and Math. At such a young age, she teaches other kids things that they would otherwise never learn because they are unable to get an education. Most of the children living in these poorer areas either have no school nearby, or they have to work to help out their parents. Yup, while you were learning how to ride a bike, they were working to get something to eat.

India’s new “Right of Children to Free and Compulsory Education Act” targets about 3.6 billion in mullah to try to make education free for all children and it just took effect. Hopefully, the changes can be seen soon, since there’s around 10 million kids without any education in India as of now. The future is looking a little bit brighter for them, especially with the help of girls such as Bharti Kumari who’s big heart and wisdom has made her own little make-shift school and already educated some young eager minds. Take that government! Beaten to the punch by a girl ;)

Wow this little girl is seriously amazing the fact that she goes to school & comes back eager to help right away no questions asked is amazing, she takes the time to help other kids in need she is their very own superhero that is just..wow very touching :) .

To answer your question: In my community I like to help as much as I can there aren’t a lot of programs you can get into here though which kind of sucks but I volunteer at an animal shelter & we do fundraisers not just for animals but also for those in need. I know I may not do a whole lot but like you said I would like to think even the small things count :) .

Thanks for sharing this amazing story with all of us.

Wow! This is a great story and a great life lesson.
I think people should not to go through these needs that the people of this village are going through, just the mere fact of being human …
Children should not work, they have to live his childhood …
The Indian government should give more structure and education for the people there (India), if for some reason have someone in government should be to change the country and the cities for better and not go back and make things worse …

PS: Sorry if there are errors of English or typing in my message, is that I am Brazilian and my English is very limited …

wow, I don’t think that anything I do can compare to what she does. hm, I volunteer?
She’s incredible. I couldn’t imagine having to walk to school everyday for two miles with my insanely heavy backpack, and then come home and teach 50 children what I had learned.

incredible.

Oops, sorry … I wrote what I think about the story, but I did not answer the question …

Answer: In my community I’m trying to do a project with my cousin and some friends, is a festival dedicated to the genre of rock music, we have some bands that are starting their training and make a small presentation with these bands in my school … And People who are interested in seeing the presentation of the bands, they give a pound of food, so we’ll donate to a shelter that cares for homeless overnight.
This is not an important event, but we are trying to help those who really need …
But this year is a little tricky for us to hold this festival …

Wow, what an amazing young lady, it really shows and proves that we CAN do exceptional things and we CAN survive and be apart of creating a better world in all we do, no matter how big or small. When we truly understand the value of what and why we choose something, then we are willing and joyful in DOING it no matter what it takes :) …that was mouthful!

This is what GBD is all about for me and why I wanted to create this space for young women:)
