When Was Your Last Period? Do You Know?
When was your last period; how often do you have them; and how long do they last? Do you know? How do you keep track of your monthly visit from AUNT FLOW?
Time to start tracking your womanly functions, ladies!…Here are general guidelines for those who are expecting and a refresher for those that already have the pleasure of having their period.
Gals should expect to get their period about once a month; the average cycles are between 21 and 35 days long. However, some girls will experience some inconsistencies and may miss a period altogether, especially in the first year or so.
Some things that can effect your period and stunt the arrival of “the visit” are: exercising and training in an intense manner, following very strict dieting regiments (Intense exercise and dieting can use up all your body fat and that can cause girls to not get their periods.), and overall health and stress.
Then there is the whole ovulation thing…Most don’t even know it’s happening, BUT don’t freak out if you happen to notice this clear, gooey, jelly-like stuff one day when going to the bathroom. That clear jelly-goo stuff is a sign that you are ovulating. YAY! Some girls may feel a bit of lower abdominal pain.
Ovulation occurs somewhere in the middle of your cycle…Mine is on day 15…I am like clock work
…I actually have an IPHONE Application that helps me keep track J…Many girls do, and should, it’s very valuable as a girl to be on top of these things, it helps you stay in tune with your body, and predict when you will bleed again, and you will be able to know if you are late or early. Most importantly, if you ever have a health concern pop up, you will have a record of your flow.
So get out those calendars and pull out those bright red markers and start charting, my friends!!!!!!

April 29, 2010Mine were really crazy when they first started. Some months it would come, some not at all. It was such a pain in the ass to try and predict when it would be back, so I just carried pads or tampons at all times.
My doctor actually put me on birth control pills before I was sexually active, after long discussions with my Mom and I, because I had really bad periods, painful cramping, near-hysterical mood swings and a wonky schedule. The pills leveled out my hormones and now it’s not as bad. I still get weepy though.
Now it’s like clockwork…When I’m finished the little white pills, I get my period
