Your Name

Waaazzzzup, GBD?
Today, we want to think about your name. Yeah, that’s right. What’s your name? Why’d your parents give you that name? Did you ever even ask?
My name is pretty cool, at least I like it. Although on most TV shows or movies Bianca always plays some sort of snotty beyotchie character. They’re bringing bad rep to all the cool Bianca’s out there, dangnabbit! Occasionally there’s a good girl in there, like the little mouse from The Rescuers, now that was a good one! In my case, since my mom was a movie buff (something she’s now passed on to me) she’d surf the credits at the end of movies to look for names to choose from. Which in the end seemed pointless cause she got my name from LaBianca Tate murders (yes, my mom is weird, but she liked the name, lol). If my mom hadn’t picked Bianca she would’ve named me either Simoné, which I kinda like, or Olympia, which is kinda weird for me to think about. Thinking of having a different name other than Bianca is a totally foreign thought to me, and I wonder if it would’ve shaped me a little differently. In my case, Bianca hasn’t defined me as much as my nicknames have, like Binks. I love my nickname, it holds a special place in my heart and it’s definitely helped define me in a way that I never expected it would.
Do you like your name? Would you change it if you could? How has your name defined you?
Post Away, Ladies!
As a fun little extra, if I would’ve been a boy, my mom would’ve named me *drum roll* Sebastian. I know, weird. Yes….like the crab from The Little Mermaid -_- But FOR THE RECORD, I was born before it. So, HA! Saved by genetics. If I were a boy though, Erik would’ve been the name I liked, coincidentally also from the same movie…huh. Weird.
What would’ve been your name if you were the opposite sex? What name would you have liked?

May 21, 2010My name is Christina, and I love it! I like that it’s not overly popular, and kinda timeless. I also like how I can have so many different nicknames: Chris, Chrissy, Tina, Ina (given to me by my little cousin), Teen, Tinou, T… etc. I also just went on an exchange and my correspondents name was Yasmina. we became Mina and Tina!
Yet I remember when I was little I always wanted to change it. At one point in kindergarden I had everyone convinced that my name was Crystal. I remember in grade four I used to write my name as ‘Mary Kate’ on all my assignments. Luckily my teacher caught on…
Now I couldn’t imagine being named anything else.
