What Era Do You Wish You Were In?

A subject I didn’t always like was History, maybe it’s ’cause I had sucky teachers, or maybe it really didn’t interest me all that much before. In the past couple of years though, I’ve learned to love history and find fascinating things in every corner. The world has changed so much in the tiny speck of time we’ve been here that’s it’s gonna be interesting where this all leads to in the future. During the course of the story this planet has shaped, there’s been major events that helped accelerate the changes, alongside some other less subtle events. If you had the ability to actually live at any point in time, whether it be during the time of the Crusades, Ancient Egypt or the Groovy 70’s, what time would it be? What place? How come? What is it that attracts you more to this Era in particular?

What exactly is it that you’d like to live through, do you want to see the Mongols conquer a bunch of land? Maybe see a real Shakespeare play during his times? Maybe it’s to see The Beatles in concert! Oooo, so many possibilities, so many things to see! How’s about jumping to the future (wonder how that’s gonna be like O_O)

You never liked history….. -_-

Okie, well, I always tend to over-analyze things when I think about this subject and then I end up liking where I live now, because of all of the advancements that have been made with medicine, technology and the fact that we’ve been through two sexual revolutions and a feminist movement and in most eras, I’d be married with kids by now etc, haha. However, I will tell you that my list of eras are Ancient Egypt, the Middle Ages, because they built some kick ass buildings, mainly churches then there’s the 1920’s and pretty much every era from the 1950’s up to now. Actually, no Middle Ages. I’ve made it a point to remove any century that had an epidemic/plague…I’ll stop rambling now. I could go on for hours :P

eras i dont really know… but specific events… Being on the bus with Rosa Parks… Hearing Martin Luther Kind jr. speak… and i think that I would totally love to see a shakespeare play!

Oh you are so like me because I used to hate history too but now as I have gotten older I actually have come to love history. I am my 8 year old sister’s teacher for her home school, & I have to teach her history & I have come to actually love it lol.

I think if I were to maybe choose an era to be a part of I would love to have been part of the 50’s I loved how simple most of the stuff used to be I don’t know the flowy skirts & the way it used to be I just love.
