HELP!
OK, who has advice on how to get through a family reunion? I have to go to one Sunday and it’ll be the first one I’m actually old enough to be super annoyed with people. Oh, did I mention that I have TONS of relatives? See, My great grandparents had 12 kids and they had kids, who had kids, who had kids, but that’s just the tip of the iceberg. My great grandma had like, 8 or 9 siblings and they all had kids who had kids who had kids and blah, blah, blah. The reunion is for my great grandma’s side, by the way. You know what that means? A crap load of people will be confined to one space and it’s bad enough that I don’t exactly get along with some of my aunts and uncles and cousins, so this should be interesting. Any tips? Anyone? Bueller? Bueller? Bueller?

June 9, 2010The main advise i would have for you would be to go with no expectations of it being a negative thing. It’s amazing how good something could turn out to be if you just give it the opportunity to be something great. This could be your chance to settle some unresolved problems with your family because when it comes down to it they are the ones that will always be there for you. Go into it expecting the best. Staying positive always helps brighten a dark situation. My advise to people has always been to hope for the best but expect the worse. But with that do your best to make it more than you expect. Have some fun and say hi to some people you may have not seen for a while or maybe not even met. No worries. Just always always stay positive.
