Crazy or Passionate?

By Caitlin

I was recently sent a link to a video of a political speech. I’m not really sure what to think of it and I wanted to hear your opinions…

Here’s the video:

Was he crazy, or was he passionate for his beliefs. How far are would you be willing to go?

Today’s post was sent in by the awesome Caitlin! Thanks Caitlin! If you are interested in writing for GBD send in your stuff at contributor@girlsbydesign.com mmkay? Great!

Hmm… while psycho-babble differs on the term “emotionally disturbed” with some saying it only applies to children and others acknowledging that anyone can be so termed he obviously is not in control of his emotions. Even if we put that aside for a moment and consider what he said there are still some alarming statements. “Politics is winner take all!” Politics is supposed to be about public service, as a public servant. His evoking the statement, “…calls for drastic measures!” I don’t want anyone in office who does not use rational, measured, sensible common sense solutions to problems. “… with both guns loaded!” Uh… it ain’t high noon and this isn’t the OK corral, so tone it down a bit bud. He goes on to offer a pledge of sorts to never abandon and keep front and center the ideals of every level of the Republican party in the county, state, etc. However, he does not state what those ideals are, at all! Yes, he is obviously passionate but I think his manic over the top stems from something more childish and immature and insecure, not passion at all. The Democrats obviously have the office he wants, and he is extremely upset about that, even though he gives no specifics as to how they have erred. That’s just jealousy and rage and he demonstrated quite a temper tantrum. My thought through the first 70% of the “speech” is that he wasted his money on the degree in communications! LOL! For the record, I am a registered Independent, and I can tell you the Republican and Democratic parties have for decades been the worst and most dangerous thing that has happened to America during that time frame. They both are vociferous in laying the blame at the other parties feet no matter what the subject. Common sense tells you that neither party can be wrong all of the time, yet they both frequently indicate the other is. So here’s what I say to both of them. YOU both collectively brought America to it’s knees and nearly destroyed it! In that process, the rich got richer, and the poor got poorer, and many, many hard working Americans have seen their life savings disappear through catastrophic medical care costs (should be a human right, right?) and the obscene games the filthy rich played in the financial markets. Sure, there are good human beings who are very rich, Bill Gates, even Warren Buffet has his moments. They aren’t the problem, it is all of the wanna be greedy who aspire to be them and who are willing to say to hell with America, it’s every man for himself! Or, as this guy ranted and raved, every party for themselves! Scary stuff!

p.s. Golly! I was hoping from the tag-line this blog would give me a chance to ask, what one should do if one knows one could love someone for the rest of our lives in wedded bliss, when one has never really even met her? Well, at least not formally… there was that one night at Fort McDowell Casino… but was that her friend, or her boyfriend? Ugh!!!
p.p.s. Was she pretending she couldn’t speak “perfect” English? Why?!? She made me think it had to be mistaken identity! Double UGH!!!

Omg, I thought I was watching a wrestler giving a speech, bahahahahahahahahahahhahahahha. *breathes* Ahahahahahahhahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha. Phew, I’m good. I’m good, hahahahahahha. Omg. OK, OK, OK. *takes a deep breath*

I think that there is a very fine line between crazy and passionate and that’s all I have to say about that.

P.S. BAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAAHHAHAAHHAHAH!

Erm…

I was kind of waiting for him to burst a blood vessel…
It sounded as if he was about to cry.

Regardless of your political stance, like G said, there’s a very fine line between passionate and crazy, and I think this man has crossed it.

His tone almost (nay, definitely) makes him appear immature, and therefore not (mentally) fit for congress. Personally, I wouldn’t vote for him. I wouldn’t be able to take him seriously =).

oh my goodness – my dad emailed this to me a couple of days ago and literally my jaw dropped for his entire speech – more than the fact that his actions are unprofessional, he is aggressive and condescending in what he is saying. it’s not too impressive
