I came across this video a few days ago and I thought it was really amazing. It’s in response to the recent suicides that have occurred. I won’t say much more, I think the video speaks for itself.

Well? What do you think? Why have there been so many suicides of late? Are you and I partially responsible? Do you stand up for people when you see that they are being bullied?

I believe that you and I are equals, no matter the color of your skin, the god you worship, or the people you love. There is no reason to hate others, or bully them.

Thanks for reading/ watching this girls!

Wow. It is a powerful video. It gave me goosebumps.
It is good to know that people are informed and affected by this.

Woah! I just did a brochure on Suicide Prevention last weekend for health!!! It depresses me the fact that suicide is the third leading cause of death in youths. The reason it exists is because of tragic life events that occur in the person’s life and the way the person handles it. It is a neurological disorder that affects that person’s actions.

I am glad that there are so many help centers and youth group organizations, where professionals can give the help that others need. It’s always great to see videos like these, showing that we are aware of what is happening and we are standing up to fight against it.

Wow!! Just wow!! This video really touched me because just recently at my school, a girl committed suicide. Me and my friends talked about it a lot and kept telling ourselves.. maybe we could have helped her if we took the time to get to know her. We are responsible for letting this happen, but we will not let it happen again.

our generation has the power and hope to end this intolerance of diversity- and this video is just an amazing beginning of a movement that is universally included to end this intolerance for future generations –

@mischiff11 – thats so tragic, was the suicide a result of bullying?

Maia – I honestly don’t know.. All that we were told first thing in the morning was that we lost a student who attended our school and we didn’t find out that she committed suicide a few days after – we saw it in the newspaper. It wasn’t the greatest feeling, even though I didn’t know her. But it was really scary especially because one of her close friends we saw go through a major shock phase.. She was freaking out and screaming right in front of my classroom. Now our school is doing a project to help any student in need.

wow thats incredibly sad. i think people find it easier, in general, to just keep to themselves instead of reaching out or creating a community vibe – but how awesome would it be if amongst every one of us there was a common code for being a support system, or a shoulder to cry on for anyone, no matter if they’re a friend or not, nerdy or cool, anything. its a challenge to break away from a societal system like this, but imagine how amazing it would be if a supportive, thought provoking, and talkative community began to thrive in schools just like how we have created that with GBD

This is a very strong message. I love that they took the time to make this video and got all those people involved. I think it’s very important to get this out and share with others how important it is to treat each other nicely. It seems so simple right? Being nice to someone in the hallway or just smiling to someone for no reason. Still, some people feel like it’s weird to do that. People really worry about how they come off to others and it’s become a big problem now. It’s really sad because I feel like people deserve the right to feel good about themselves and it’s not fair for some of us to take that away from others.
