WTF: Weddings in a Parking Garage?

I recently read an interesting article in the New York Times, by Michael Barbaro, about a new location for social events.

In Miami Beach, Florida a parking garage, designed by Robert Wennett has become a hot spot for weddings, events, wine tastings, and even yoga classes!

Mr. Wennett designed the parking garage with the idea of resembling the grand hall of a train station — “big, airy, light-filled, and head turning.”

The garage has floor heights of up to 34 feet, staircases, artwork in the base, and a glass cube with a designer clothing store.

Would you girls have a party or anything in a parking garage? I kinda like it… no windows, amazing views, open, versatile space…

If the weather is nice, why not? That’s the ritziest parking garage I’ve ever seen!

What a neat idea!I’m a backyard wedding kind a girl so I wouldn’t have a wedding there but I would definitely have some kind of shindig in a parking garage like that!

P.S. I love that you guys are linking to the blog via twitter, I was pleasantly surprise to see you in my twitter timeline, and it was a good reminder to check the site :D

Though not a conventional place for social events, by looking at the photos, I can dig it! They decorated the parking lots to look so amazing! Who would’ve thought?
