Hello Guys and Dolls!

Yes! I said guys! muahaha (in my best Sheldon’s voice impression!)…
Today I’m here to tell you about……………. Male beauty products!!!!!!! so guys dig up and giiiiirls get informed!!

In the last decade, as sexism continues to decrease around the world -thank you Lord!-, Beauty Products for men have gained ground and respect all over the world. Centuries ago, all a man could do fer his appearance was shower and shave lol… Now it’s a completely different story… Contrary to popular belief suggested by sexism, men are in fact
concerned with their appearance!, some care less than us girls, and some care even more! *Metrosexuals* whom we love cause not only do they look good, but we can also share creams and other good stuff with them!

The days of men giving themselves a quick shower appear to be over! Today, men pay more attention to their image than ever before. Many salons now house a complete range of male grooming products, including body creams, exfoliants, and moisturizers. The demand for these products has grown exponentially over the years. It has also led to the opening of men’s exclusive spas around the world!

It’s true that this market is relatively new, experts predict cosmetics for men will be the next big thing in beauty products. My point on posting this is that if y’all handsome guys are willing to spend money on cologne that make you smell good, why wouldn’t you spend money on something that makes you look good as well? So, since nowadays many men spend several hours every week working out and taking care of your bodies and health, you are sure to want to take care of their faces if the products are available… or that is what I think…

Since this is a relatively new area, cosmetics companies are still unfamiliar with which products men are willing to try and which ones they are avoiding. They are
experimenting with various forms of lotions, skincare and hair products, and makeup too!   Many people find the thought of men wearing make-up odd at first, -or gay!- but after seeing some of the products available, it all starts to make sense. This products aim to very subtly improve appearance and treat skin conditions. Products available for men include lotions, scrubs, oils, massage creams, razor blades, shaving needs, and even environmental sound product. Male beauty products cater to the various needs of men, including a desire to look, smell and feel good.

-Male Cosmeticians

One obstacle is men’s willingness to talk about their beauty concerns… or lack of there of…. Many men are not willing to walk up to a counter and talk to a woman about their needs or concerns. Men feel that they will be given something better suited for the needs of a woman, and by this I mean something cute/pink/fluffy/fruity. This is why many stores are beginning to hire male cosmeticians and makeup artists. Another important thing is the manner in which the products are marketed. Even if the ingredients are the same, men want to feel that the product is designed specifically for them from the formulation to the smell and packaging.

There are brands such as Aveda, Nivea, Biotique, Clinique, Kiehl’s, an Neutrogena that have launched exclusive lines of  products to enhance the masculine look in easy and quick routines that will appeal to men who don’t like to spend too much time in front of the mirror. There also are the usual shaving products, sunscreens, moisturizers, and such. These products are only the beginning of what is sure to become a major very profitable market! All the major companies are placing their bets on men being more concerned about their appearance. Men are much more pickier about their clothes as well as their overall image.

So for you guys out there who feel like you need a dictionary to go and get something on the store or drugstore. So just in case you need some info…

Cleansers… well… they clean! haha no, really they remove the oil and dirt from the skin and open the pores
Toners… are generally used after the skin is clean and they shrink the pores to prevent dirt and other contaminants from entering
Sunscreen protect from damaging sun rays that age the skin and even change its color.
Moisturizers are good since they replace fluids lost during washing. They protect your face from the elements.
Facial scrubs/exfoliants are used to remove excessive oil and dead skins cells and to clear pores. They also provide conditioning vitamins. They soften the skin, however you must not use them more than once a week unless they are formulated for daily use!
Note to self and everyone else:
While I didn’t plan it that way, the products are used in the order in which I wrote them haha… except for the scrubs that are not for every day… Although sunscreen and moisturizer can switch places to your convenience

***FUN FACT!*** Men between 15 and 24 years of age use the latest male cosmetic technology, in order to make themselves attractive to us sexy women haha.. go figure! However, those aged 35-54 are not generally willing to surrender cash to maintain their skin in good healthy condition. Online stores help men search for proper beauty product easily. There are discount sales offered by a number of websites.
