Hello dolls!!

Is there anything the matter with your skin?? Is there anything you would like to hide?? Got dark circles? Blemishes?
Concealers: meet my doll ________ (fill in with your name)
Doll: meet my best friends lol

Dark circles are a pain in you know where! They can be genetic (my case), worsened because of allergies (my case too… don’t you wish you were me!) and be caused for many other reasons (*coughs* partying all night long! *coughs*). You can use an eye cream to improve the general appearance of this sensitive area’s skin, but if you’re looking for a quicker-cheaper-easier fix a good concealer is just what you’re looking for!

Don’t you just hate when you get a huge pimple overnight before a very important event such as a date, a wedding, prom and what not!? It is sooooooo annoying… But do not fret! Take deep breaths and whatever you do, DON’T TOUCH IT!!!! No pinching/squeezing or whatever you want to call it! It will only get bigger and probably infected… Oh and it will hurt more!… You can apply a product to reduce the swelling; today, many brands offer overnight products that reduce the pimple and make it look better. I particularly like Clean and Clear Advantage their spot treatment has always done the trick for me. When I was younger I had a treatment that completely disappeared any pimples! Had it at age 13 and I still haven’t had skin breakouts like I used to… I rarely… or close to never get any break out but when I have one I just dab that on and it does the trick!  The next day you just conceal and you’re ready to go

Note for readers:
*I have no relation with Clean and Clear neither am I paid to say good things about their products… just giving you my honest opinion. Besides there are several more brands that carry similar products!*

When choosing a concealer you must consider:

Pick the right shade. The correct concealer color should mimic the undertones in your skin, whether they be pink or olive, as we discussed in the foundations entry. This is often referred to as warm or cool. The closer you match the concealer to your skin color, the better job it will do of covering up what you don’t want to be seen. Never put on a concealer with spf if you’ll be taking a lot of pictures! Or you’ll get awful under the eye discoloration!

Decide on color and concentration. The thicker the concealer concentration, the better it will be at masking a big imperfection. When it comes to correcting the color, usually greenish-yellow or blue is best for blasting out redness, while pink or yellow is helpful for neutralizing dark under eye circles.

Apply it correctly. Be careful to not apply too much because it will look like you’re trying to cover something up. For your dark circles pat the color on with your finger -Remember to always use your ring finger, it is the weakest of them all, therefore it is the more gentle! Dab the product on…. Don’t ever pull the under eye skin: it is super thin and delicate! Your finger’s temperature will help with the melting and blending of the product! Same thing goes for blemishes! Remember green counteracts red so if you have any redness, you should use a green concealer… for yellowish sun spots use lavender to diminish the yellow tone…

I can only add that I hope this post helps you out a little! :)
Remember that the key to any good make up look is blend blend blend!

Stay dark circle and blemish-less… or at least look like it ;)

Awesome!! Thank you so much, Lucy. I need to try a green counteractive for redness around my nose :) Any product suggestions for good, lasting, green concealers?

Lucy,

This is awesome! I hate dark circles and really love your beauty blogs. I had no idea about the ring finger tip :) My skin is so sensitive, so it’s nice to be able to read up on different treatments and tricks from your blogs. Keep up the great work!

@ised92 You´re very very welcome… :)

-For skin conditions that cause redness like rosacea maybe a good option could be the Gentle Cover Concealer Stick by Physicians Formula. It is packaged in a lipstick like tube… but you must have good blending skills!

-Maybelline’s Cover Stick on green…

-The Concealer Palette from the Sephora collection which is great cause it has green, lavender, and two flesh tones…

-Makeup Forever’s 5 Camouflage cream palette… which is good quality like M.A.C but waaaaaaaaay less expensive! :)

-Lise Watier’s concealer wheels which are loved by pro makeup artists.. In the Portfolio professional correctors on the brand’s website you could get the one for light complexion which has flesh colors as well as lavander and green it has chamomille and Vitamins C & E :)

OR YOU COULD USE A COLOR CORRECTING FOUNDATION PRIMER… :) Hope this helps! :) xoxo
