WTF: Microstudios?
If you ever have lived or currently live in an apartment, you might consider it small. Inevitably, however, a smaller one exists. “Microstudio” is the term coined to describe the tiniest apartments. As someone who loves to organize and see how efficiently I can utilize a space, I find the idea of a microstudio fascinating. There are even online contests held annually for the best small apartments! Many of them are absolutely beautiful and you’d never know that they are as small as 400 square feet! Check out some cool apartments here: http://community.apartmenttherapy.com/contests/smallcool/2011
The record for the world’s smallest apartment belongs to this 90-square foot unit in Manhattan: http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=JZSdrtEqcHU#at=296
The description reads: “By choosing a studio that measures just 12 feet by 7 feet, Felice Cohen can afford to live in Manhattan’s Upper West Side where apartments rent for an average of $3,600 per month. She pays just over $700 for her 90-square-foot microstudio. After a bit of adjustment she now loves living smaller, simpler and cozier.”
So what do you think, GBD? Win, toss, or fail? Do you think Cohen’s apartment is too small?

As an eary 20-something living on your own can be expensive, and finding the right apt was really hard for me. I wish I could find a microloft! It maybe small, and probably cramped sometimes but it’s yours and you worked hard to get it. I personally like, small/ Cozy places, and one of these is ideal for living by yourself. I want one!
