COLLEGE!!!!! AHHH

Some of you ladies out there may be off to college!! The experience can be incredibly overwhelming, new place, new people, and a new life. How are your college experiences going? Getting along with the roomie? Scared or nervous about anything? Share, share, share!!

My first night sleeping in the dorm room was last night… it was exciting and overwhelming at the same time. I’m having some trouble figuring out my niche, definitely don’t see myself partying every night, so far, it’s been a bit of a challenge. I’m hoping that if I just keep an open mind, the first couple of weeks will be manageable and things will get better.

This is fun to read since I’m close to starting my LAST year of undergrad! I’m moving into an apartment for the first time instead of the dorms and am both nervous and excited for all of the experiences that come along with that – new roommates, cooking, cleaning, budgeting, etc. Good luck to everyone!

PS. Don’t party every night, haha! Make sure you have some time for fun, but the trick is to learn to balance that with class, studying, work, activities, or whatever it is that you do. :)

I feel that the partying can be overrated. College, in general, is such a great experience!

I am the first in my family to receive a bachelor’s degree (Social Work), and now I’m in graduate school getting my degree in Social Work! I was also an athlete (tennis player) for my school, which had extra stress, but of course I need to find creative ways to still have fun.

Things will get better for sure, but learn to set priorities and having the proper balance (while making sure we take care of ourselves first and foremost) will be key to success!

You’ll do wonderful girl! It’s okay that you haven’t found your niche yet… College is all about taking your time and really figuring yourself out before you go out into the big scary world :)
