10 Ideas for Simple Happiness
As the school year continues to progress, the haze of summer laziness begins to fade and stress can become more present. Here are some little things to do which can help take off that stress!
1. Give yourself a facial, not only will your skin thank you, but you will feel clean and invigorated. Doesn’t hurt to get a confidence boost from glowing skin either.
2. Go exercise! It has been scientifically proven that exercise releases endorphins and adrenaline which will make you feel energized and happier.
3. Listen to music, depending on the beat, it can relax or energize you. Music is an instant mood booster for me.
4. Write in your journal. Reflecting on what your week has been like, how you are feeling, or what you are concerned about can be helpful in realizing solutions or looking at the situation in a different perspective.
5. Clean and organize your room. Your bedroom can be your haven, a place to go when everywhere else is too overwhelming. If your bedroom is organized, you will feel more relaxed.
6. Call a friend, sometimes all we need to feel better is a good laugh. Connect with a friend you know will bring out the positive.
7. Go outside. Feeling the warmth of the sun, a cool breeze through your hair, and listening to life around you is an instant reminder of happiness.
8. Volunteer. Getting involved with something you are passionate almost always guarantees inspiration.
9. Get a good night sleep. Being tired = crankiness and laziness. Almost always, it is difficult to get things done when you are exhausted. Feeling refreshed and awake the next day is well worth an early night.
