7 Questions with Erika Berglund
1. Who is your style icon? And how would you describe your sense of style?
“My mom is my style icon because she’s never afraid to wear what she wants and to be out there. She is always up to date on the fashion world. My style is unique to me, I have a lot of clothes that were my mom’s and some vintage, everyday is a different style.”
2. How are you liking college? Any advice you would give to girls about going to college?
“I love it because the people are so much more open and inclusive than in high school. And I like the responsibilities of being on my own. Don’t be afraid to introduce yourself to people, everyone is in the same position, and be yourself because then the friends you make will appreciate you for who you really are and those are are going to be the long-lasting friendships.”
3. How have you changed since being at college?
“I’m proud to say in high school I was always myself but while at college I have become more outgoing and open to trying new things.”
4. What was your favorite memory of high school?
“There are many but one would be dressing in head to toe in my school colors for the football game and standing in the pouring rain while going into double over time and finally winning. Throughout high school I loved being spirited and feeling like I was a part of something bigger.”
5. What’s your most valued possession?
“A necklace my grandma gave me, the chain was my grandfathers and it has a Norwegian prayer on the back. My grandparents are norwegian and that’s one of the only things I have left from them.”
6. Where is your favorite place in the world?
“Lake Oko boji because that’s where my dad’s family grew up and I always make sure I’m there every summer to see family and old family friends, it’s just part of who I am and it relaxes me to be there.”
7. What is your favorite holiday?
“Thanksgiving because of all of the good food, gathering of family, coziness of being inside when it’s cold outside, and sometimes my birthday lands on Thanksgiving.”
