Tracy’s Back with Music!
Hey Girls..
I’ve been so bogged down with work during my last year in school and I feel like I have’t talked to you in ages!
A music blog is well overdue, so I thought it was time I changed that
Anyways… I have no clue what to call this blog… it doesn’t have a topic, or a point..but I’m sitting here as I write this relaxing and listening away to my itunes.
Do you girls ever have those times when you just want to cut off the world and get lost in music? I definately do, almost everyday
We all need those times, with or without music, where we have to step back for a while, think about ourselves, our lives, our past, our present and our future… doing this keeps us grounded and lets us think a lot more clearly. I can’t think of any better way to do this than to get comfy, close your eyes, pop in the head phones and let the music take you away
I thought I’d share some beautiful songs that I listen to when I’m in need of some serious thinking and ‘me’ time and songs that I can also relate to. Most of these songs have some of my favourite lyrics of all time too.
Matthew West – Family Tree
A song about being who you were, who you are, and who you will be. Not what anyone else pictures or plans for you, just the way it should be!
This is not your legacy
This is not your destiny
Yesterday does not define you..
Nickelback – Far Away
A song about love. Love that will never end no matter how far away the people in your life may go, family, friends, boyfriends or girlfriends.
I’d give it all
I’d give for us
Give anything, but I wont give up…
Because with you, I’d withstand
All of hell to hold your hand
Switchfoot – Sing It Out
A song about faith. The writer of this song is a very deep christian and uses a lot of metaphors to link his songs to God. I know we all probably believe in a lot of different things, some of us choosing not to believe anything, which is all fine. But everyone can relate to this song in their own personal way, it can have a 1000 different meanings, and it’s so beautifully written. To me I relate this song to the people in my life who are there for me and who always will be.
Sing it out,
Sing out loud
Take what is left of me
Make it a melody…
Switchfoot – Dare You To Move
A song about taking chances, risks and grabbing oppurtunities. This is hands down, my most treasured song, I plan to get ‘Dare You To Move’ tattooed even
… anyways…. this is such an inspirational song that I’ve mentioned it in a few posts before. I can’t give it enough praise
I dare you to move
I dare you to move
I dare you to lift yourself up off the floor…
I dare you to move
Like today never happened
One Republic – All Fall Down
A song about realising that no one’s perfect, we all make mistakes, we ‘all fall down’…this song is definately one to make you think and is so beautiful
Lost til’ your found
Swim til’ you drown
Know that we all fall down
Everyone’s the same, our fingers to our toes,
We just can’t get it right, but we’re on the road..
I could honestly go on for hours more… I have a rather large itunes collection
But this just a small taste of songs I think we can all relate to. Their lyrics revolve around everday thoughts and occurences. These songs can remind us that we’re not alone, we’re loved, that life is what you make it and to never give up
Hope you enjoyed ladies
Sing your hearts out,
Tracey,
xo
